JUST IN: The New York Giants’ trade for Panthers quarterback Bryce Young as a long-term replacement for Daniel Jones is off.
In a stunning turn of events, the New York Giants’ plans to acquire Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young as a long-term replacement for Daniel Jones have fallen through, leaving the team without a clear succession plan for the future.
According to sources close to the situation, the Giants had been engaged in serious negotiations with the Panthers for several weeks, with both teams working on a deal that would have sent Young to New York in exchange for a package of draft picks and players.

“Daboll has been a good leader for this team, but he needs to find a way to get the offense clicking and to get the team moving in the right direction,” said one Giants fan. “Right now, the team is in a bit of a funk, and they need to figure out how to get out of it if they want to be a contender in the NFC East.”
