The three-on-three basketball league called Big3—founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz—has crowned former Los Angeles Lakers forward Michael Beasley its MVP.

From 2018 to 2019, Beasley was a member of the Lakers in the NBA. He was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in February 2019 after missing a large portion of the season to assist with his ailing mother. In two days, the Clippers waived him. With two starts in 26 games, he averaged 7.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game while playing for the Lakers. The Miami Heat selected the former All-American and Big 12 Player of the Year from Kansas State with the second overall choice in the 2008 NBA Draft. In his lone collegiate basketball season, Beasley averaged 26.2 points and 12.4 rebounds per game, making him a standout player.

Beasley played for the Heat for two years after the draft until being moved to the Minnesota Timberwolves in July of 2010. Before joining the Lakers, he was a member of the Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks. Beasley started participating in the Chinese Basketball Association in the midst of his NBA career. He played for the Shandong Golden Stars after starting his career in the CBA in 2014 with the Shanghai Sharks.

Following his release from the Clippers, Beasley became a member of the Guangdong Southern Tigers. The CBA Championship was won by Beasley and the Southern Tigers in 2019. In addition, he was the Foreign MVP of the league in 2016 and a two-time CBA All-Star. Later, he participated in the Puerto Rican basketball league as a player with the Cangrejeros de Santurce. He also had a brief second run with the Shanghai Sharks. Later, Beasley joined the Big3, where he plays for 3’s Company and has excelled this season. In each game this season, the 6-foot-9 forward has averaging 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 0.7 assists.
