REPORT: Jets coach Saleh said there is no way for Reddick to be active for the Jets’ season opener against the San Francisco 49ers in two weeks.
New York Jets coach Robert Saleh has announced that star linebacker Haason Reddick will be inactive for the team’s season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, citing a “personal issue” as the reason for the player’s absence from the game.
The news of Reddick’s absence comes as a surprise to Jets fans, who had been eagerly anticipating the linebacker’s debut in New York after he signed a five-year, $43 million contract with the team during the offseason.
While Saleh declined to provide any further details about the nature of Reddick’s personal issue, he did suggest that the team was prepared to support the player during this difficult time and that the organization had no intention of punishing him for his absence.
