A MASSIVE SETBACKA: “Kyle Shanahan deceived me” Brandon Aiyuk regrets accepting contract extension with San Francisco 49ers and explain why.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has expressed his disappointment and regret over his recent contract extension with the team, accusing head coach Kyle Shanahan of deceiving him and failing to live up to his promises.

Aiyuk, who had emerged as one of the 49ers’ top playmakers in recent seasons and had been a key contributor to the team’s success, had signed a four-year contract extension with the team earlier this year and had been expected to remain with the team for the foreseeable future.

 

 

However, in a candid interview with a San Francisco-based media outlet, Aiyuk expressed frustration with the 49ers’ management and coaching staff, saying that he had been misled and deceived by Shanahan and other members of the team’s front office.

“Kyle Shanahan promised me that the team would be building towards a Super Bowl, but that hasn’t happened,” said Aiyuk. “I feel like I was lied to and I regret signing the extension.”

Aiyuk also criticized the 49ers’ lack of progress on the field and the team’s inability to reach the heights of their 2019 season, when they advanced to the Super Bowl and nearly won it all, saying that he had been frustrated with the team’s inconsistency and its inability to capitalize on its potential.

“I thought we would be challenging for a Super Bowl again, but we haven’t made any real progress,” said Aiyuk. “I feel like I’ve been wasting my time here.”

The 49ers’ management has responded to Aiyuk’s comments by expressing disappointment and frustration with the wide receiver’s attitude and behavior, saying that they had been supportive of him and had done everything possible to help him succeed with the team.

“We have supported Brandon Aiyuk throughout his career with the 49ers, and we are disappointed with his comments,” said a 49ers spokesperson. “We believe that he is a talented player, but he needs to take responsibility for his own performance and behavior.”
