CONFIRMED: Auburn Tigers Officially Announce Commitment from Top DII Transfer Elyjah Freeman from Vols.
The Auburn Tigers have made a major addition to their roster, officially announcing the commitment of standout small forward Elyjah Freeman, one of the top Division II transfers in the country. The 6-foot-8 freshman, who previously played for the Vols, brings a dynamic skill set and impressive numbers that have quickly turned heads across college basketball.
Freeman averaged an eye-popping 18.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game during his freshman campaign, shooting an efficient 57% from the field and a blistering 46% from beyond the arc. His ability to score at all three levels, combined with his rebounding prowess and defensive versatility, makes him one of the most sought-after transfers in the portal this offseason.
“We are thrilled to welcome Elyjah to the Auburn family,” said head coach Bruce Pearl. “He’s an elite talent with a tremendous work ethic, and he fits perfectly into our system. His ability to stretch the floor and impact the game on both ends is going to be a big boost for us.”
Freeman’s transfer marks a significant get for Auburn, especially as the Tigers continue to retool their lineup following recent roster changes. His blend of size, shooting, and athleticism is expected to make an immediate impact in the SEC.
“I’m excited to be part of a program with a winning tradition and a passionate fan base,” Freeman said in a statement. “Coach Pearl and the staff believe in me, and I can’t wait to get to work and help this team compete for championships.”
With Freeman’s commitment now official, expectations are high as Auburn eyes another deep run in March. Tigers fans will get their first look at the rising star this summer as he joins the team for offseason training.
