Sananda Fru has officially committed to playing for Louisville.
The University of Louisville men’s basketball team, along with head coach Pat Kelsey, announced on Monday that Sananda Fru has signed to join the 2025–26 roster.
“Sananda will make an immediate impact on our program,” Kelsey said. “At 6-foot-11, 255 pounds, with a 7-foot-4 wingspan, he’s a dominant physical force with athleticism, skill, and a high basketball IQ. He influences the game on both offense and defense. He’s highly effective in pick-and-roll situations as both a lob target and finisher, and I truly believe he’s developing into a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. His shooting form is strong, and within our system, his confidence in that area will only grow. He attacks defenders on closeouts and excels at driving to the basket. On defense, he protects the rim with shot-blocking ability and his lateral quickness allows him to guard multiple positions—an essential trait in today’s game. He’s been competing against seasoned professionals in one of Europe’s top leagues for the past three years. Sananda is also an outstanding person, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him to the Louisville Basketball family.”
The 6-foot-10 forward/center arrives in Louisville after playing four seasons in Germany’s top-tier BBL league with Basketball Löwen Braunschweig.
