SAD NEWS: Mark O’Neill has announced that he will resign as Parramatta eels general manager and explains his decision.
The rugby league world was surprised today when Parramatta Eels general manager Mark O’Neill announced his resignation, effective immediately. In a news conference, O’Neill explained that he decided to step down for personal reasons, including a desire to spend more time with his family.
“This has been a very difficult decision to make, but I feel it’s the right one for me and my family at this time,” O’Neill told the newspaper. “I’ve enjoyed my time with the Eels, but I believe it’s time for me to move on and focus on my family.”
O’Neill, who had served as general manager of the Eels since 2018, was widely respected for his dedication and professionalism in the role.
