STUNNING: “The Eels halfback Mitchell Moses days in the team are numbered”, Parramatta Eels GM Mark O’Neill Plainly explains why.

The Australian rugby league community was left stunned as the Parramatta Eels’ general manager, Mark O’Neill, announced that the club’s star halfback, Mitchell Moses, may soon be on his way out.STUNNING: "The Eels halfback Mitchell Moses days in the team are numbered", Parramatta Eels GM Mark O'Neill Plainly explains why.

In an interview with reporters, O’Neill candidly revealed that the Eels’ management was growing increasingly frustrated with Moses’ recent performances and behavior, both on and off the field.

“We can no longer tolerate subpar performances and unprofessional behavior,” said O’Neill.

According to O’Neill, Moses has been struggling to maintain the high standards that the Eels expect of their players, both in terms of his individual play and his leadership on the field.

“Mitchell is a talented player, but he hasn’t been living up to our expectations,” said O’Neill. “He needs to step up his game and prove that he’s worthy of a place on this team.”

In addition to his on-field struggles, Moses has also been the subject of numerous reports of off-field misbehavior, with O’Neill suggesting that the halfback has failed to demonstrate the kind of maturity and professionalism that the Eels demand of their players.

“We want players who are committed to the team and to the sport, and who understand that they have a responsibility to represent the Eels in a positive and professional manner,” said O’Neill.

With Moses’ future with the Eels now in doubt, many within the rugby league community are speculating about where the halfback might end up next, with several rival clubs said to be interested in signing him.

“Mitchell is a talented player, and there’s no doubt that he’ll have a number of options available to him,” said one rugby league insider. “But he needs to prove that he’s committed to turning things around and getting back on track.”
